UNICEF supports schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive. They do this by supporting teaching of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This gives students the vocabulary to talk about global issues, and encourages them to be responsible, active citizens. Once students and staff understand their rights, the Rights Respecting Schools Award supports school communities to embed these values into daily school life.
