Reporting a concern
There are a number of routes if you have a concern about an adult working in education.
Schools and colleges should have their own procedures for dealing with safeguarding concerns or allegations against those working in or on behalf of schools and colleges in a paid or unpaid capacity.
The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) responds to allegations made about people who work with children. If you need to contact your LADO, you should contact your Local Safeguarding Partnership or Local Authority.
You can report concerns about extremism related to education settings in England, including allegations about institutions, staff and external people or organisations trying to influence settings via the online portal on gov.uk: Report Extremism in Education – Start. If you are unable to complete the online form the Counter-Extremism Helpline is available Mon – Fri 11am – 3pm (excluding bank holidays) for support raising a concern on 020 7340 7264.
